My name is Dolores Buba

and I am the author of the children’s book series
“Amisia and Her Friends.”

I come from a small town in Sucha Beskidzka, Poland, and for the past 11 years I have been living
in Liverpool, UK. For over 20 years, I have worked as an English language teacher, supporting
children in their learning, personal development, and in building self-confidence.

The world of Amisia was born out of careful observation of a child — my daughter, who is my
greatest inspiration. Her emotions, questions, and the way she sees the world became the foundation
of the stories I create. In my books, I strive to tell stories that are close to children’s hearts and true
to their experiences — stories about relationships, emotions, and everyday situations that help them
better understand themselves and others.

I create my books with shared reading in mind — as a time of closeness, conversation, and building
a bond between a child and an adult.
